Emergency Care

Do optometrists provide emergency care?
Optometrists are often called upon to provide emergency care for eye trauma. Approximately 87% of doctors of optometry have evening and/or weekend hours during which they may deal with emergencies. They also play a major role in the prevention of protective eye wear such as polycarbonate (plastic) lenses for small children.
