Is eye care accessible to all?
Doctors of optometry in Massachusetts are committed to making eye care as accessible as possible to everyone in the Bay State. There are still some residents who, for a number of reasons, are not able to get proper eye care. There are still some residents who, for a number of reasons, are not able to get proper eye care. For instance, some people have limited resources, such as welfare recipients; other cannot afford health care at all; and, still others are not physically able to travel to a doctor's office, such as some patients who are on Medicaid or others who are confined to nursing homes. To meet the challenge of providing accessible eye care to all, the optometrists have developed a number of community service programs. We would like to tell you about a few of them.
